About Talk Power
Talk Power is EDF Energy's annual conference for organisations using large amounts of energy. For 14 years it has been a platform for leading figures in business, government, academia and energy to debate the key energy issues of the day. It has established a reputation as "the Wimbledon of energy conferences" amongst senior energy, sustainability and procurement professionals in business and the public sector.
About the 2012 conference
The theme for Talk Power 2012 is: Powering on: investing for growth and a sustainable future. UK energy policy developed significantly during 2011, making good progress towards establishing a new market framework designed to encourage the large scale investment in affordable low carbon generation that the country urgently needs.
However the business community remains concerned about the potential impact on their cost base and what this may mean for their international competitiveness.
Talk Power 2012 will focus on the positive actions Government, business and the energy sector can and are taking to improve our prospects at a time of economic difficulty. In particular, how investment in infrastructure and improving efficiency are key to driving sustainable growth and competitiveness, against the backdrop of London hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
